My uncle is an usher at the same church I go to. His biggest complaint about being an usher is that the doors are squeaky, so whenever anyone gets up and goes out the door, everyone in church hears it.

Now, he blames the people- he thinks you ought to be able to sit through a church service and not leave your seat once. But I'm of the opinion that if you've gotta go, you've gotta go!

While I was in the auto parts store this weekend, I saw something nifty- a WD-40 no-mess pen. Hmmm. So now I'm thinking I could sneakily go around and de-squeak the doors so my uncle will have one less thing to complain about.

I mentioned my plan to my mom and she thinks someone might see me and think I was being disrespectful. I'm not so sure. What do you Shak-ers think? Should I oil the church doors?
