Have you ever been back and forth to the paint store buying those little plastic pints of paint to sample on your walls? If you’re like many and find it hard to decide on a paint color one option to try is getting in touch with a color consultant. According to Real Simple, a color consultant can help you select colors that work for your space without having to test 15 different shades on your walls. She can give advice based on furniture, size of room and lighting that may even allow for a more daring choice you might not have made on your own.
Color consultants range in price from about $50-$75 per hour (about enough time to pick colors for two rooms). To find a color consultant, check out the International Association of Color Consultants (IACCNA) for a designer in your area. They are trained to see color as a psychological impact on the human response and can be very effective in helping you create the desired affect you want for your space.
If you do decide to go ahead and and Do It Yourself, check out Choosing Colors by Kevin McCloud for more ideas and inspiration.
